LSProject: Arsenic in our groundwater?

If you get your water from a private well, you may assume the water you're drinking is free of harmful chemicals. But research that began in the 1990s shows that some wells in our area contain fairly significant levels of arsenic.

In this edition of The Lake Superior Project, Martha Marnocha learns more about current arsenic research in northeast Minnesota.

The current EPA drinking water standard of 10 ug/L applies only to public water supplies -- it is not an enforceable drinking water standard for private wells.
