The following is a record of calls made to the Cook County Law Enforcement Center from Monday, July 3 to Monday, July 9. These are the initial calls made to law enforcement dispatchers.

Monday, July 3
12:31 a.m.  East Bay Suites, Grand Marais Approximately 20 people on the beach with a fire, quite loud. Located down by Stone Harbor. 
9:38 a.m.  West Highway 61, Tofte  General fire alarm. Cook County contacted Bluefin Bay. False alarm.
10:07 a.m.  Gunflint Trail Traffic stop, warning given.
10:13 a.m.  Law Enforcement Center  Welfare check on son who is camping somewhere in the Grand Marais area. Caller hasn't heard from him in a day and is concerned. 
10:43 a.m.  Gunflint Trail  Traffic stop, warning given.
11:05 a.m.  East Highway 61 Traffic stop, warning given.
11:31 a.m.  Poplar Grove Cemetery  Silver SUV swerving all over the road, behind a black pickup. 
11:39 a.m.  East Highway 61 Traffic stop, warning given.
1:12 p.m. Blazes Road, Grand Portage Assisting party with lockout. 
1:16 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  Found green and white women's wallet on the street just north of the recycle center. 
3:16 p.m. Gunflint Trail  Traffic stop, warning given.
4:03 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  911 open line, regular conversation in background. Call disconnected. Unable to ring back.
4:18 p.m. West Highway 61 Traffic stop, warning given.
4:35 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  Lost iPhone 6 plus, white front with black case. 
6:07 p.m. West Highway 61 Traffic stop, warning given.

Tuesday, July 4
12:02 a.m.  North Broadway Avenue Foot patrol downtown. 
1:04 a.m.  Artist Point Found a wallet near this location. 
1:48 a.m.  Grandma Rays, Grand Marais Concern about infant whose parents are in bar.  
6:38 a.m.  East Highway 61 Traffic stop, clear.
8:01 a.m.  Super America, Grand Marais Turned in small purple floral wallet found on Highway 61 in front of Super America 
9:04 a.m.  Gofer Trailer Court, Grand Marais Semi hit a deer on Highway 61. Semi did not stop. The deer appears to be dead.
9:07 a.m.  West Highway 61 Dead fawn in the traffic lanes, cars are swerving around it. Transferred call to Minnesota State Patrol.
10:28 a.m.  Murmur Creek/Benedict Lane  ATV parked off the side of the road.
10:38 a.m.  West Highway 61 Traffic stop, citation issued.
10:52 a.m.  West Highway 61 Traffic stop, citation issued.
11:21 a.m.  East Highway 61  Traffic stop, warning given.
11:47 a.m.  Skyport Lodge Lost wallet/clutch in this area on Sunday.
12:05 p.m. Putt N Pets Mini Golf, Grand Marais Caller reporting a dead cat in the center turn lane.
12:19 p.m. Way Of The Wilderness  Silver iPhone found near the bathroom at the Iron Lake campground. Party will hold on to the phone in case anyone is looking for it. 
1:31 p.m. Tofte Park, Tofte Traffic control for Tofte parade.
2:28 p.m. North Pike Lake Rd No power since 12:30.
2:55 p.m. West Highway 61, Tofte Traffic stop, citation issued
3:04 p.m. West Highway 61, Tofte Traffic stop, warning given.
3:31 p.m. Grand Portage Lodge Counterfeit $100 bill will be at the main bank in the casino.
3:41 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  Pocket dial, sounds like someone walking.
3:54 p.m. West Highway 61 Traffic stop, warning given.
4:56 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  911 open - line sounded like a pocket dial. 
4:59 p.m. Gunflint Trail Traffic stop, citation issued.

5:24 p.m. Timberwolf Lane, East Highway 61  Party bringing in mother with medical problems.
5:41 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  Found a North Shore Federal Credit Union debit card. 
5:51 p.m. North Broadway Ave, Grand Marais Foot patrol in Grand Marais business district. 
5:53 p.m. Store Road, Grand Portage Found dog.
7:02 p.m. Grand Marais City Hall  Foot patrol.

8:08 p.m. East Highway 61 Traffic stop, warning given.
8:37 p.m. North Broadway  On foot, Grand Marais.
8:46 p.m. Store Rd, Grand Portage Traffic stop, citation issued.
9:12 p.m. West Highway 61, Tofte Traffic stop, warning given.
9:26 p.m. West Highway 61, Tofte Traffic control for Tofte fireworks. 
10:00 p.m. Grand Portage Lodge Foot patrol, casino beach area.
10:01 p.m. Store Road, Grand Portage  Party hit his vehicle on driver’s side door and hit nephew’s foot.
10:53 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  Turned in Samsung smart phone. 
11:10 p.m. Shoreline Motel, Grand Marais Reporting 6 females at a picnic table with a lot of alcohol on the table causing a disturbance 
11:15 p.m. Cobblestone Cove, Grand Marais  On the beach directly across from Java Moose, people lighting off fireworks. 
11:20 p.m. Genes Way/West Highway 61  Strong smell of propane coming from the truck. 
     
Wednesday, July 5
12:11 a.m.  Grand Marais Rec Park  Foot patrol.
12:31 a.m.  Law Enforcement Center  911 call with conversation going on in the background. No distress sounds.
1:06 a.m.  Grand Portage  Four juveniles were in his home when he got home and the juveniles were drinking his beer.
1:26 a.m.  Holy Rosary Church Grand Portage  Male on the ground near this location. Caller was driving and did not stop, unknown condition 
5:48 a.m.  Grand Marais  Vehicle with person sleeping in her driveway. 
9:17 a.m.  Grand Marais Rec Park Turned in an orange back pack. 
9:39 a.m.  Gunflint Trail Traffic stop, citation issued.
9:43 a.m.  Gunflint Trail Phone outage - had lightning strike at the pole that blew the cover off the box, inside of box is charred. 
9:55 a.m.  East Highway 61, Hovland  Tree down at mile marker 128.5, covering westbound lane. 
10:13 a.m.  Grand Marais  Dog in vehicle. Window cracked maybe an inch and a half. Starting to get warm. Wheaton terrier type dog, doesn't appear to be in distress yet but has been there at least 40 minutes. 
11:56 a.m.  Law Enforcement Center  Domestic that happened last week. 
12:15 p.m. Grand Marais  Smoke/fire alarm 2nd floor stairs.
12:19 p.m. Linnell Road/East Highway 61 2 dogs running loose in the area, a husky and a boxer type dog. Causing traffic hazard as vehicles were having to stop for them. 
12:56 p.m. Lutsen Mountains Ski Corp.  Alpine Slide at Lutsen Mountains - daughter was hit in the back. Scrapes and bruises on spine. Does not want medical to respond but wants to talk to officer.
1:00 p.m. Grand Portage  Would like to talk with deputy about issues caller is having with party.
3:05 p.m. Java Moose, Grand Marais A little black terrier loose heading towards Blue Water Cafe from this location.
3:25 p.m. Gunflint Trail Traffic stop, citation issued.
4:38 p.m. Grand Marais Stated neighbor threatened to shoot her dog. 
5:30 p.m. Grand Marais  Fire alarm. 
6:14 p.m. Gunflint Trail Superior fuel truck broke down.
7:17 p.m. Harbor Inn, Grand Marais  Had a combative guest that they had to kick out. 
10:04 p.m. Grace Drive, Grand Marais  Fireworks going off for the last 7 to 8 minutes. Last house to the west. 
10:59 p.m. Cascade River State Park Host of campground reported that campers in site 37 heard a single gunshot. The shot sounded as if it came from the west towards the river.
     
Thursday, July 6
6:21 a.m.  Law Enforcement Center  Inmate transport.
8:29 a.m.  Law Enforcement Center  Assist to the jail.
8:35 a.m.  Law Enforcement Center  Individual dropped off a Canadian driver’s license he found in town. 
10:09 a.m.  Law Enforcement Center  911 call. Sounds like a pocket dial. Casual conversation in the background. 
10:29 a.m.  Gunflint Trail  Traffic stop, warning given.
11:21 a.m.  East Highway 61 Traffic stop, citation issued.
12:09 p.m. Gunflint Trail Traffic stop, citation issued
1:29 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  Party has pocket dialed 911 multiple times today. No answer on callback. 
1:46 p.m. Shorts Rd, 2uno  Civil process attempt.
2:35 p.m. Cook County Recycle Center Inmate transport.
2:42 p.m. Brandon Lane, Grand Marais Civil process attempt.
3:09 p.m. Cook County Courthouse Inmate transport.
3:19 p.m. Lake Superior Trading Post Found a set of keys. 
3:48 p.m. Grand Marais  Civil process attempt.
4:31 p.m. Devil Track Road Power outage.
4:32 p.m. White Sky Trail Power outage.
5:02 p.m. Lutsen Fire Department, 2lut  61-year-old female, needs medical assistance. 
5:22 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  911 open line - sounded like someone walking.
5:25 p.m. East Highway 61  Traffic stop, warning given.
5:26 p.m. Skou Road, Schroeder 911 open line, no sounds in the background then hung up - 911 only phone.
5:36 p.m. Gunflint Trail Traffic stop, warning given.
5:56 p.m. East Highway 61 Traffic stop, warning given.
7:38 p.m. Bluewater Café, Grand Marais  Reporting a wallet left behind this am.
9:11 p.m. Arrowhead Trail, Hovland  Traffic stop, citation issued.
     
Friday, July 7
2:59 a.m.  Pike Lake Road, Grand Marais.  Co2 alarms going off.
7:30 a.m.  County Road 7 Caller reports power just went out. 
7:47 a.m.  Gunflint Trail 911 call. Sounds like a pocket dial from a motorcycle or vehicle with its window down. No sounds of distress. 
8:04 a.m.  Grand Marais Report of a burglary alarm at Sven and Ole’s-  false alarm 
8:32 a.m.  Law Enforcement Center  Inmate transport. 
12:41 p.m. Grand Marais  Large truck has been loading and unloading trailers in front of her home. This has been happening for the entire summer. Caller states it’s extremely noisy. 
12:42 p.m. East Bay Suites, Grand Marais Caller states party has been driving a 4-wheeler in the alley behind this business several times today at a high rate of speed. 
1:13 p.m. Rollins Creek Rd, Lutsen Front door burglary alarm activation at this residence, false alarm.
2:07 p.m. West Highway 61, Lutsen Traffic stop, citation issued.
2:51 p.m. Gunflint Trail  Traffic stop, warning given.
4:21 p.m. Devil Track Road Wants to speak to a deputy regarding problems with landlord.
6:29 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  Party missing since July 1. Last seen north of Grand Marais on a fishing trip. 
7:19 p.m. Co Rd 14, Grand Marais Civil process attempt.
7:29 p.m. East Highway 61, Grand Portage Traffic stop, citation issued.
8:01 p.m. East Highway 61, Grand Portage Civil process attempt.
8:09 p.m. West Highway 61  Traffic stop, warning given.
     
Saturday, July 8
12:38 a.m.  West Highway 61  Traffic stop.
12:42 a.m.  East Bay Suites A loud party between East Bay Suites and Best Western. Several people with a bonfire. 
8:03 a.m.  Wisconsin Street  Trailer blocking stop sign.
8:27 a.m.  Bay Estates Drive, Grand Portage   Caller reports her power is out.
8:43 a.m.  West Highway 61  Burglary alarm at Benny's Collision. Back door activation, all clear.
9:11 a.m.  Croftville Road, Grand Marais Lost an aqua colored backpack with diapers and newborn supplies in it. Last seen downtown during the 4th of july celebration. 
9:22 a.m.  Grand Marais  Party has stated they may hurt themself. Would like us to check on party and take them to the hospital 
10:15 a.m.  South 8th Avenue, Grand Marais  Aquatic invasives species inspections.
10:38 a.m.  Java Moose Foot patrol for art festival. 
10:46 a.m.  West Highway 61  Power outage. 
11:39 a.m.  Law Enforcement Center Permit to purchase application.
11:51 a.m.  Cook County Whole Foods Co-op Caller states vehicles are parked on the dunes behind this address. 
12:33 p.m. E Hwy 61, 2gp  Traffic stop, warning given.
12:49 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  Caller reports two UPS boxes and one Fedex envelope were taken from the front of his house. 
2:13 p.m. U.S. Coast Guard, Grand Marais  Caller states a blue Ford Expedition is parked in front of a fire hydrant and it partially blocking their boat landing. 
3:04 p.m. Gunflint Trail Traffic stop, citation issued.
3:30 p.m. Joynes Ben Franklin  Party blocked in by another car in the alley behind Ben Franklin.
3:36 p.m. Grand Marais Rec Park Party came into the lobby and stated a fellow camper hit his truck with his camper trailer. No injuries and parties exchanged insurance information 
3:47 p.m. East Highway 61 Traffic stop, warning given.
4:12 p.m. North Broadway Ave, Grand Marais  Foot patrol at art festival.
5:29 p.m. Grand Marais Rec Park Lost leather wallet downtown. Boy Scout emblem on the front. 
8:29 p.m. Fireweed Lane, Grand Marais 24 year-old-male, possible panic attack. Yelling and shouting. 
9:08 p.m. Mile O’ Pine Seeing dark smoke. Slightly bigger than a campfire but smaller then a house fire. 
9:09 p.m. West Highway 61 Traffic stop, warning given.
     
Sunday, July 9
1:15 a.m.  North Broadway and Wisconsin Street Traffic stop, warning given.
1:18 a.m.  Grand Marais Rec Park Parties being loud. 
1:30 a.m.  Grand Portage 49 year-old-male, sick for a couple of days. Difficulty breathing has been sick a couple day .
7:32 a.m.  East Highway 61 Caller would like to speak to a deputy about neighbors dumping trash across the road on the beach. 
7:41 a.m.  Seagull Creek Fishing Camp Rp states a woman about 45-50 yeo complaining of stomach pain 
8:46 a.m.  Crescent Lake Campground, Tofte Rp is the host at crescent lake campground. Caller states a vehicle is in the ditch on the grade just east of the entrance to the campground. 
9:48 a.m.  East Bearskin Rd, Grand Marais Residential burglary alarm at this address, rp called back and cancelled the call
10:20 a.m.  Law Enforcement Center  Rp reports losing her blue wallet and iphone 6 downtown today. 
11:32 a.m.  Bluefin Bay Resort, Tofte  Rp states a commercial fire alarm at bluefin bay, false alarm
2:10 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  911 call. Sounds like a pocket dial can hear what sounds like walking. No ani/ali information. No sounds of distress. 
2:46 p.m. Law Enforcement Center  Caller states a husky is running down the highway dodging cars around this location. 
2:51 p.m. East Highway 61 Traffic stop, warning given.

3:31 p.m. North Broadway Ave.  Foot patrol in business district.
8:00 p.m. East Highway 61 Arrested woman for 5th degree possession.  
11:22 p.m. East Bay Suites People partying down on the beach have taken some of their furniture and are being loud. 
11:43 p.m. West Highway 61  4 young people riding bicycles without helmets. The pedals do have reflectors. Riding in four abreast. 
11:46 p.m. Walter Road, Grand Marais  Heard loud bang and now they don't have power
