Local resident competes in 'Board Across the Bay' race on Lake Superior

Beth Poliquin is the general manager of Stone Harbor Wilderness Supply in Grand Marais. She is also an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys recreating near, and on Lake Superior. Among her favorite outdoor activities is stand-up paddleboarding.

Poliquin recently took her passion for paddleboards to the Board Across the Bay race to the Wisconsin communities of Washburn and Ashland. In her field, Poliquin finished in first place.

She spoke with WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs about the event.
