Jeremy Messersmith is "Overly Optimistic" on the Scenic Route

Jeremy Messersmith has been writing clever and meaningful songs in the Twin Cities for over a decade. His latest project is a songbook entitled "11 Obscenely Optimistic Songs for Ukelele", a recording and collection of sheet music of tunes about kittens, rainbows, unicorns, and anything sparkly and sugar-sweet.

He speaks to host Will Moore about switching from guitar to uke, the post-election sequestering that inspired the songbook, idealistic futures, and his "Only in Minnesota" micro-tour hitting up unusual Minnesota locales.
