Jack Haussner takes second at state in the 110 hurdles

The section 7A Track and Field meet was held at the University of Minnesota Duluth on May 30.  At that meet, Jack Haussner, who also recently graduated from Cook County High School, qualified to go to the state meet in three events, the 200-meter dash, the 110-meter hurdles, and the long jump.

He qualified for those events by winning the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.21 seconds, winning the long jump with a distance of 20 feet and one inch, and finishing second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.30.

The state meets takes place at Hamline University in St. Paul this Friday and Saturday.  

WTIP's Sterling Anderson spoke with Haussner ahead of the state meet.

UPDATE

On Friday, Haussner took first in the 110-meter hurdles preliminary event with a time of 15.12 seconds.

On Saturday, in the 110-meter hurdle finals, Haussner finished in second at the state competition with a time of 15.28 seconds.  

Haussner also participated in the 200-meter dash, where he finished 13th in the preliminary, and in the long jump, where he finished 16th.
