It's Take a Kid Fishing Weekend!
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources wants to get everyone outdoors this summer. One effort is the “Take a Kid Fishing Weekend.” On June 11-13, Minnesotans can fish without licenses if they take children 15 or younger fishing.
Minnesotans 15 and younger don’t need fishing licenses any time of the year. But on this Take a Kid Fishing Weekend, adults are encouraged to give fishing a try. As MN DNR Volunteer Mentor Program Coordinator Benji Kohn says, participants might just get “hooked” on fishing.
