A significant number of tests were processed for COVID-19 in Cook County on a single day last week, among the highest since the start of the pandemic. On Monday, July 13, there were 17 tests processed locally for the new coronavirus. Of those, 14 tests came back negative while the results for three others were still pending.

WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs spoke with North Shore Health Hospital Administrator Kimber Wraalstad for an update on local testing for COVID-19.

During their discussion, which aired live on WTIP July 17, they also discuss reporting data on the new coronavirus after federal changes were announced recently on that process, wearing masks in public and what comes next in allowing visitation at the Care Center in Grand Marais.
