The Cook County Sheriff’s Office and Arrowhead Cooperative are aware of several power outages in the county in the Schroeder and Lutsen areas and in Grand Portage, due to high winds. Arrowhead line crews are working on repairs, but there is no estimate at this time when power will be restored.

Wind gusts between 35 to 45 mph have been observed from Silver Bay up the North Shore. Some locally higher gusts of around 50 mph may be possible.

The National Weather Service believes the winds will diminish around or before sunrise this morning, around 6:00 a.m.

If you plan to travel early Tuesday morning, be aware of possible downed trees and other windblown objects in the roadways.
