The 2018 Greater Minnesota Governor’s Forum scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 21 in Grand Rapids, Minn, has been canceled.

The event was to be hosted by non-partisan regional broadcaster and AMPERS station KAXE/KBXE.  The goal of the forum, featuring GOP candidate Jeff Johnson and DFL candidate Tim Walz, was to empower citizens to vote and engage in community by attending, listening or watching.

WTIP planned to air the debate live on Tuesday and rebroadcast it Aug. 30. There has been no official reason for the cancellation of the event or if it will be rescheduled.
