Grand Marais hospital director urges patience as vaccine rollout nears
The case count continues to climb for COVID-19 in Cook County. There are now 94 confirmed cases in Cook County since the start of the pandemic, including multiple active cases at this time.
Cook County has received notice of 11 new COVID-19 cases in the past week. Among the new cases are two men in their 50s, one in their 20s and three males under the age of 18. Also testing positive in the past week are five local women, including two in their 20s, two minors and a woman in her 40s.
Statewide, 89 more Minnesotans died from COVID-19 yesterday, state health officials reported Dec. 10, with 3,523 more Minnesotans testing positive for the virus on Thursday.
Meanwhile, healthcare officials in Cook County and across Minnesota continue to navigate the fluid situation regarding the arrival of a COVID-19 vaccine. WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs spoke with North Shore Health Hospital Administrator Kimber Wraalstad for an update on the vaccine’s arrival to the North Shore and on the current state of the pandemic.
