Ginny Storlie will remain on the Cook County Board of Commissioners following a recount this morning stemming from the Nov. 6 election.

After the recount was complete at approximately 12:15 p.m., it was determined the original results from Election Night were correct. On Nov. 6, Storlie defeated Bruce Martinson 322 to 317, or by a total of five votes.

Commissioner Storlie was out of town on county business Thursday, so her friend and fellow Cook County resident Virginia Reiner observed the recount in her absence. Martinson was also present during the recount.
