If you have thoughts on the possible expansion of the Lutsen Mountains Ski Area, the time to comment is now.

Lutsen Mountains has proposed an expansion of the ski resort to 550 acres of adjacent Superior National Forest land – land that is managed by the U.S. Forest Service. Superior National Forest managers are conducting pre-proposal scoping to inform the public prior to Lutsen’s submission of a formal proposal.

The Forest Service is looking for any concerns or other information relevant to Lutsen Mountains’ plan and the resources and values on the national forest lands where the expansion is envisioned.

If the Forest Service accepts Lutsen’s formal proposal, an environmental analysis under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) will be initiated, with additional opportunities for public involvement and review.
