EDA sells land to Spectrum Health for assisted living facility
The Cook County/Grand Marais Economic Development Authority met on Tuesday, June 13 and in attendance was John Monacelli of Spectrum Health. Monacelli is proposing the development of an assisted living facility in Grand Marais.
To facilitate the construction of the facility, the EDA agreed to sell two Cedar Grove Business Park lots to Spectrum Health, Inc. The lots, across the Gunflint Trail from the Cook County Law Enforcement Center, were sold for $1. It is hoped that an approximately 30-bed assisted living facility will be available within a year.
Superior National at Lutsen golf course was also on the agenda. There have been negotiations regarding the costs of the golf course expansion.
Learn more about both of these issues and more in this interview with EDA Board Chair Howard Hedstrom.
