County addresses tax issue for properties near Tait Lake
The WTIP News Department has been informed of a problem with the 2018 property-tax calculations for a number of properties located near Tait Lake. County Administrator Jeff Cadwell sent the following statement to WTIP regarding this issue:
"The county has become aware of a number of proposed taxes in the Tait Lake area that were incorrectly calculated. The auditor's office is working with the state to correct this situation. If you are in this district and your proposed taxes appear to be in excess of the proposed county tax increase please contact the Auditor’s office at 218-387-3640."
Meanwhile, during a community conversations program that aired live on WTIP Dec. 7, Cadwell said the county has lowered the levy from a proposed 19.9 percent increase to approximately 17.5 percent.
