Cook County choir shares a message of hope on March 14
Students at local schools participated in peaceful demonstrations today, March 14, on the one-month anniversary of the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas School in Parkland, Florida. Here the School District 166 choir, under direction of Ericka Ternes, shares a song of hope and peace. The choir sang for 17 minutes -- one minute for each person who died in Parkland.
Other School District 166 students walked out of school to observe 17 minutes of silence.
Great Expectations School seventh- and eighth-graders also observed 17 minutes of silence and went on a two-mile march through the community.
