The BBC station in Shropshire, UK recently discussed WTIP on the air. The unexpected publicity came after WTIP Program Director Roger Linehan corresponded with a local folk band from Shropshire called Whalebone. Roger has been playing Whalebone's music on the Thursday night folk show, Thirsty Boots, and on WTIP's early morning show, DayBreak. After communicating with Roger the band sent out a press release saying their music was being heard as far away as Grand Marais, MN in the USA. The story was picked up by the BBC in Shropshire and resulted in an on-air feature. Give it a listen Be sure to tune in all the way through, as WTIP gets a station ID from the BBC announcers at the end of the segment.
