WTIP’s First Thursday looks at the FISH Project

Fish are an important part of a healthy diet.  Catching and eating fish are also part of the history and culture of the Great Lakes region. But not all fish are always good for you all the time.

Join WTIP’s Jay Andersen for “Fish are Important for Superior Health,” this month’s First Thursday Community Conversation.

Recently research has found that a large percentage of infants born along the North Shore have elevated levels of mercury in their systems.

The Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Grand Portage Health Service in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of Health are presently conducting a project named FISH: that’s an acronym for Fish are Important for Superior Health.

We’ve assembled a guest panel from the clinic, Grand Portage and the state department of health.

“Fish are Important for Superior Health,” this month’s First Thursday Community Conversation, only on WTIP North Shore Community Radio.
