West End annual meetings March 9

Local governments on the West End of Cook County will hold their annual public meetings this Tuesday, March 9.
 
Lutsen’s annual meeting takes place at the Lutsen Town Hall, on the Caribou Trail just north of Highway 61.  Supervisor Joe Buttweiler and Town Clerk Amity Goettl are both up for re-election and are running unopposed. 
 
The Schroeder annual meeting takes place at the Schroeder Town Hall, on the Cramer Road, just north of Highway 61. Town Clerk Carol Tvreekrem is stepping down from her position and there are no announced candidates for the job. There are two write-in candidates for the open supervisor position in Schroeder.  They are Tina McKeever and Lloyd Geillinger. 
 
The Tofte annual meeting will be at the Birch Grove Community Center. Town Clerk Barb Gervais is running unopposed for re-election, and Jim King is running unopposed for the supervisor seat being vacated by Tom Muntean. 
 
All of the West End annual meetings start at 8:00 p.m., with polls opening at 5:00 p.m. Township tax levies will be set and other matters of interest to the community discussed and decided.
