The Wildflower Sanctuary along the Devil Track River is in the process of being restored and maintained. Anne and Chris Hegg spoke with WTIP volunteer Joey Detrick on North Shore Morning.
Volunteers are needed to keep it maintained, with regular workdays on the 3rd Sunday of each month from April to October, at 10:00 am. All are welcome and appreciated. Work will focus on identifying, signing, weeding and maintaining the flowers. Some tools will be available, but bring your own if you have them. A mosquito jacket and gloves are recommended.
The sanctuary is located 5 1/2 miles from town, just off the Gunflint trail on County Road 60. Parking is at the new entrance just before the Devil's Track River Bridge.
