Township elections and annual meetings will be held Tuesday, March 8 in Lutsen, Schroeder and Tofte. Polls are open between 5 an 8 p.m., with the annual meetings to follow. Each township is holding elections for one three-year term supervisor and a two-year tern treasurer.
In Lutsen, incumbent Supervisor Marland Hansen is facing challenger Lela Goettl. Seven-year incumbent Treasurer John Groth is running unopposed.
In Schroeder, Treasurer Mary Van Doren has not filed for re-election and no one has filed for the position. Incumbent Supervisor Bill McKeever is running for re-election.
Both Tofte candidates are incumbents running without opposition – Supervisor Allan “DC” Olsen and Treasurer Mary Jane Huggins.
