In Thunder Bay Ontario, the Lakehead University Thunderwolves women’s basketball team announced Wednesday that they’ve added six-foot post player Essa Jacobsen to their roster for the 2013-14 Ontario University Athletics season.

Jacobsen, a native of Grand Marais, played last season for Mesabi Range Community and Technical Junior College after closing out her high school career with the Cook County Vikings.

The Thunder Bay Chronicle Journal reports that Jacobsen was named to the high school all-conference team three times and is also the only player at Cook County High School to record over 1,000 points (1,249) and 1,000 rebounds (1,444) during her career. She is also the all-time shot blocks leader at CCHS.
