Three poets featured in Grand Marais reading Friday

April is Poetry Month and three poets from Duluth will be in Grand Marais to read from their work on Friday. The reading is a presentation of the Spirit Lake Poetry Series, Grand Marais Public Library and WTIP North Shore Community Radio. The reading is at the library beginning at 7pm, April 9 and is free and open to the public.
 
The featured poets are Yvonne Rutford, Ryan Vine and Julie Gard. Rutford’s collection of poems, “This Fragile Nest” was published in 2009. She teaches at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Vine is the author of “Distant Engines” and is the 2005 Weldon Kees award winner. He teaches at St. Scholastica in Duluth. Gard’s, chapbook “Obscura: The Daguerreotype Series” was published in 2007. She is an instructor at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Superior.
 
Support for the reading comes from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council and Arrowhead Library System through grants appropriated by the Minnesota Legislature and the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
