Sawtooth Mountain Clinic is participating in HIE-Bridge, a new Health Information Exchange project that uses a secure web-based service to allow health care providers to locate patients’ medical records at other participating organizations.  According to a clinic spokeswoman, this could save critical time in emergencies, allowing doctors to quickly locate health records across several regional health care providers.

Initially, 17 health care organizations in the region are participating – including the region’s two largest providers, SMDC Health System and St. Luke’s. The clinic expects that number to grow significantly.

This project was developed by the Community Health Information Collaborative and includes 18 counties in northern Minnesota.
