From log rolling to soccer to triathlon training, the Cook County YMCA offers many programs during their Winter II Session. WTIP host Jana Berka spoke with Emily Marshall and Michaela Buchheit of the Cook County YMCA about their upcoming programs on North Shore Morning.

The YMCA is for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Program registration for YMCA Winter II Session opens on February 15th. Winter II programs run from February 23-April 11. Programs include Beginner Log Rolling classes, swim lessons for all ages, competitive swim team for all ages, preschool gym & swim, USTA Tennis, Indoor Soccer League, Gymnastics, Quigong, and Senior on Weights. Early bird registration is now open for the Ham Run Half Marathon, 5k, and little runts run. The Ham Run will be held on May 2nd this year. All proceeds of this race go towards program scholarships to make sure nobody is turned away from the Y for the inability to pay. The February Wednesday Night Wellness Series at the YMCA will be featuring Loren Stoner as the presenter. Community members are invited to participate in a free workshop titled “Optimizing Your Recovery” on February 18th at 5:00 pm. For more information call Michaela at 387-3386.
February is canned food month. The Y is inviting community members to participate in a food drive to help support the local food shelf.
