Today, youth in rural communities face many serious challenges, including a lack of opportunities, access to health care, low-wage jobs, access to quality education and access to transportation.  In order to better understand these issues and others, Minneapolis-based nonprofit news site, www.MinnPost.com, is talking with rural young adults across the state in hopes of coming to a better understanding of the diverse range of issues young people face today.  MinnPost reporter Jeff Severns Guntzel was in Grand Marais on Thursday, March 17 to talk with local young adults ages 17 to 25 about their experiences, hopes and plans.  He spoke with WTIP volunteer Mary Manning during Tuesday's AM Community Calendar program about the idea behind the project and where it's headed.
