ISD166 school district faces big budget cuts

Cook County Schools will start the new year facing some difficult issues. The ISD166 School Board has raised the property tax levy, but Superintendent Beth Schwarz says it won’t be enough to counter the shifts and cuts coming from the state. Staff and program reductions are on the table as is a four-day week – and an operating referendum is all but certain in 2010. WTIP’s Jay Andersen has this interview.
