The ISD166 school board met earlier this week in special session to act on several issues including the consolidation of four administrative offices into three.

As a part of the consolidation plan the board also approved a contract with the Grand Marais Public Library to use the current district office space and conference center as a temporary home during expansion construction on the library building.

The plan is to relocate the district office to the present elementary office space. The elementary office will be merged with the high school/middle school office. When the new community center is complete, the Community Education office will move there.

At an earlier meeting the board agreed to vacate the current district office area and other spaces in that wing of the building in an attempt to get rental income from that part of the building. For approximately six months the library will have the space at $2,000 per month.
