ISD166 and teachers hold “frank” negotiations

Negotiators for Cook County Education Association and Independent School District 166 met on January 10 to continue contract negotiations for 2011-2013. 

In a joint release, school negotiators and the CCEA characterized the meeting as a “frank discussion of district finances.”

ISD 166 made a counter offer to the CCEA’s initial life insurance proposal, but made no counter proposal to the Association’s salary proposal for the 2011-2013 contract.

The topic of mediation was discussed but tabled for now. The school board representatives agreed to return to the full board for further direction.

The two parties will meet again on January 16 at 3:30.
