June is National Homeownership Month and there will be a local one-day workshop to assist folks interested in purchasing a house. WTIP volunteer Mary Manning spoke with Sandy O’Fallon of the Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) on North Shore Morning.

The Home Stretch Workshop is Saturday, June 13th, from 8:30 am to 5 pm at Higher Ed, 300 W 3rd St in Grand Marais. More information and registration is available from Sandy at 218-999-0828.
Workshop is open to all people looking to purchase a home. Downpayment assistance subject to income qualifications.
Course Topics include:
1. Qualifying for a Mortgage/Loan Programs
2. Budgeting/Credit issues/Saving
3. Shopping for a home/realtor services
4. Professional inspections/appraisals
5. Closing/title insurance/homeowners insurance
6. Financial responsibilities as a homeowner
