Now that it’s a reality, here’s the latest on the Minnesota state government shutdown:
No fishing, hunting, boat, ATV licenses. The DNR computers are shut down. State parks, state forest campgrounds and state rest areas are all closed.

Some road construction will continue, but big projects will shut down, including the I-35 reconstruction in Duluth and the Highway 61 project near Split Rock on the North Shore. The State Patrol however will still be on the highways.

Drivers license renewals, motor vehicle licenses and passports are all still available through county deputy registrar’s offices. Birth and death certificates remain available through the county Recorder’s office. Marriage licenses, too.

The courts and prisons will operate as usual and the veteran’s home in Silver Bay is open. The Minnesota State Lottery however is shut down as is the Lake Superior Beach Monitoring Program, run by the Minnesota Department of Health.

The latest court ruling keeps aid to cities, counties and schools still flowing and the July Minnesota Family Investment Program benefits will still come to county residents who are in the program.
