The Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa held general elections on Tuesday, June 8.

Two candidates were vying for an open seat on the Reservation Tribal Council (RTC). Incumbent John Morrin was re-elected to a four-year term, beating challenger Earl Johnson by ten votes, 86 to 76.

Robert “Rob” Hull won his primary in March with greater than 50% of the vote and automatically assumes the seat vacated by Lorraine Wipson, who did not seek re-election.
