“Protecting Children and Strengthening Families in Cook County” is the focus of this month’s First Thursday Community Conversation. Tune in from 6-7 p.m. on July 1 for the broadcast.

Research shows that children who have been abused or neglected are far more likely to perform poorly in school and get involved in criminal activities. Is child neglect and abuse a problem in Cook County? How can we support healthy child development and wellbeing?

Join Jay Andersen and guests Cook County Social Worker Hilja Iverson, Assistant County Attorney Molly Hicken and Chief Deputy Leif Lunde for the discussion.

Each month WTIP’s First Thursday Community Conversation program focuses on a community issue, invites guests into the studio and asks listeners to participate in the conversation. Call or email us during the broadcast, or in advance at 387-1070 to be part of the discussion. Our email is [email protected].
