A big 18-wheeler full of food will be rolling into Grand Marais this Saturday, May 21, and hundreds of community members will be on hand to meet it. On board will be enough bulk food to make more than 100,000 meals. It’s the culmination of a community-wide effort to raise money for the Minnesota-based Christian charity Feed My Starving Children, and bring a mobile food-packing event to Cook County.
In this interview, WTIP's Mary Manning spoke with Kristin Garey, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hovland, along with three young women who have been very involved in the project, Kara Ramey, Ailee Larson, and Amber Todd, about the project.
For more information about the Minnesota-based charity, Feed My Starving Children, go to fmsc.org. To volunteer for Saturday’s mobile packing event, call Trinity Lutheran at 475-2439, or the Evangelical Free Church at 387-1565.
