The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is looking for input from the public on cleaning up and protecting the Great Lakes.

The EPA received $475 million in the 2010 budget to fund the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, a multi-agency effort to restore and protect the Great Lakes.  The purpose of the initiative is to confront some of the most serious threats facing the Great Lakes region, including invasive species, pollution, and toxic sediments.  The EPA is coordinating the effort and is asking for public input about projects, activities, and funding priorities.  To comment, go to the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative website at  www.greatlakesrestoration.us.
