In an interview on WTIP’s North Shore Morning, Commissioner and Board Chair Heidi Doo-Kirk apologized for how the Indigenous People’s Day resolution and subsequent action was handled. She said it could have been handled differently and the result was a reflection on her leadership. WTIP’s News Director Jay Andersen conducted the interview.

At the request of Frank Moe, the first district commissioner, a special meeting to act on the resolution will be held Monday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Room. The meeting is open to the public.
