The Governor has set the time table for a special election to fill the seat of House District 3A Representative David Dill. A primary will be held Tuesday September 29 and mail ballots will be sent approximately two weeks previously. Four DFL candidates have filed for the seat, consequently the primary will decide which of the four will face a Republican and an Independent in the special election to be held Tuesday December 8th.

As a part of WTIP’s election coverage, we played interviews with the four candidates on “Daybreak.” Once the primary is held, we’ll be broadcasting interviews with all three candidates vying for the House 3A seat – Republican, Independent and DFL.

The four DFL primary candidates are Rob Ecklund, a Koochiching County commissioner, Heidi Omerza, Ely City Council member, Tofte businessman Bill Hansen and International Falls businessman Eric Johnson
