The filing period for city, ISD166 school board and North Shore Hospital board ended Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Three positions are open for ISD166. Deb White and Andrew Warren have filed in District 1. Jeanne Anderson and Michael O’Phelan have filed for District 5. Incumbent Mary Sanders has filed in District 3. Garry Gamble also filed for the position, but that filing is invalid.
Auditor-Treasurer Braidy Powers checked with the Secretary of State’s office and found that since Gamble had an affidavit of candidacy in the county commissioner primary, he is ineligible to run for any other office this year.
Dave Palmer, Jr. has filed for city council as has incumbent Bill Lenz and former council member Bob Spry. Two council positions are up for election. Mark Sandbo has filed for his former mayoral seat and has no challenger.
Three North Shore Hospital and Care Center board positions are also open. All the incumbents have filed for re-election -- Sharon Bloomquist in District 1, Howard Abrahamson in District 3 and Tom Spence, Sr. in District 5.
