The “Water Contact Not Recommended” advisories issued Tuesday for the Grand Marais Downtown Beach and Schroeder Town Park Beach have been lifted.  Elevated E. coli bacteria levels identified from samples collected Monday indicated the possible presence of fecal contamination.  The beaches were re-sampled Wednesday and the Minnesota Department of Health said Thursday afternoon that bacterial levels and averages have returned to acceptable levels.
