Ashley Deschampe in second round of national three-point shooting voting
Cook County basketball standout Ashley Deschampe has advanced into the second round of the National High School Three-Point Championship competition on Facebook.
Viking Coach TJ Super reports that Deschampe now is one of eight girls across the country competing to be in the late March shoot-out. The national event occurs during the NCAA Final Four in New Orleans. The Viking senior is the only Minnesotan or player from the Upper Midwest in the competition.
Deschampe is competing against a Hamilton, Arizona, senior forward named Casidee Ranger. The Hamilton Huskie averaged 10.6 points per game this season. Ranger hit 72 out of 225 three-point field goals attempted for 32 percent.
Super says that voting is open in Round Two of the competition until Midnight next Monday.
