For several months, government officials and some citizens have been working on plans for the Sawtooth Bluff area in Grand Marais, a 640-acre site that includes rugged cliffs, forest land and a fen.

Working with the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission, the committee has developed a draft master plan for the publicly-owned site. The group hopes to outline “a vision for the site as a park of regional significance and proposing the development of facilities consistent with that vision.”

The current proposal for use of the area can be seen on the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission website. Comments on the plan can also be submitted there – the deadline for comments on this phase of the planning are being accepted until March 31.

Find the plan at the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission website.
