Climate change on the North Shore: a community conversation
In 2016, University of Minnesota Prof. Mae Davenport from the Department of Forest Resources and the Director of the Center for Changing Landscapes, along with colleagues from many other fields, completed a study on how climate change could affect tourism on the North Shore. The following is a discussion on what climate change means from a variety of perspectives, including what is meant by ‘climate change’ and when and if these changes will impact the North Shore and other parts of the Great Lakes region.
WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs speaks with Professor Davenport, Assistant Professor Tom Beery from Minnesota Sea Grant and Professor Anastasios Tsonis from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
Former Cook County commissioner and current newspaper columnist Garry Gamble had agreed and was scheduled to join the panel, but declined the week of the broadcast to participate in the discussion.
