Checking in with filmmaker Brandon Cole

Brandon Cole of Death Calm Studios has strong ties to the North Shore. He was instrumental in bringing the indy movie Virginia, Minnesota to Grand Marais for shooting in the fall of 2016. A number of North Shore residents--including some of Brandon's friends and family members--served as "extras" in the movie.

The film was released recently and is making the rounds on the regional film festival circuit. Coming up, the movie will be shown on opening night of the Duluth Superior Film Festival on May 30. Doors open at 7 p.m., the film starts at 8 p.m. at Clyde Iron Works in Duluth.

WTIP's Dennis Waldrop checked in with Brandon about the movie and about other projects on which he is working.
