-Buck, Dick & Ann welcomed local band Critter du Jour to Studio A during the recent "All Welcome" membership drive. Ken McMillan, guitar; Barb LaVigne, flute; Tom VanCleve, accordion & fiddle; and Susan Maijala; percussion, made lovely music and lots of laughs.
Norwegian author Vidar Sundstol's "The Land of Dreams," mystery set on the North Shore
-Dick chatted with Norwegian author Vidar Sundstol, whose award-winning crime novel, "The Land of Dreams," was just translated into English. The book is set here on the North Shore, and features people and places of our region. Sundstol lived here for a few years while his wife worked for the forest service.

Local songwriter Rick Skoog visits The Roadhouse
-Rick Skoog, who lives in Cook County and drives a snowplow for MNDOT, has another talent you may not be aware of: songwriting. He stopped in to Studio A Sept. 27 to talk with Buck and Dave Seaton about his songwriting career, living and working in Nashville, and lots more. You'll hear two songs he co-wrote in this interview.
Chicago-based The Bricklayers mask theatre performs, conducts workshops in Grand Portage
-The Bricklayers (Matt Trucano, founding artistic director; Kyle Cadotte, co-founding artistic director, and Jonathan Greene, international theater artist) joined Dave Seaton in Studio A Sept. 27. Conversation ranged from what mask theatre is to why theater and improv are important, and more. They performed Sept. 28 in Grand Portage, and are conducting workshops for students at Oshki Ogimaag Charter School the week of Sept. 30.
