Roberta Walburn writes fascinating biography of crusading federal judge Miles Lord
-Judge Miles Lord was a unique man who went from modest roots on the Iron Range to being one of the most colorful and prominent judges in the country. Roberta Walburn, a Minneapolis attorney who served as one of the judge's law clerks, has written a portrait of Lord as a man and a judge. She talked with Ann Possis about the book, "Miles Lord: The Maverick Judge Who Brought Corporate America to Justice."

Writer Kao Kalia Yang to visit Grand Marais this week for Readers & Writers Festival
-Kao Kalia Yang is an author, teacher, and public speaker who's written two books about her Hmong family's experiences in Laos, Thailand, and the U.S. She joined Ann Possis to share how she approaches her writing. Kalia will be in Grand Marais this week to teach and present at the North Shore Readers & Writers Festival. WTIP will broadcast a panel discussion she's on, Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at the library, on writing about charged topics. Jay Andersen will moderate the event.
