The locally produced variety show, The Roadhouse, debuted in 1999, with hosts Walt Rasmussen, Bob Carter and Buck Benson. The program has had a changing roster of hosts over the years and is currently hosted by Dave Tersteeg, Brian Neil, and Julie Carlson, and for the last 12 years has been produced by Annie Possis.

A Friday evening tradition on North Shore Radio, the program has featured countless live musical acts and hundreds of interviews, ranging from the science of climate change to how to properly roast a Thanksgiving turkey. Frequent guests to the
the show have included local and regional authors, artists, researchers, scientists, and musical performers.

Beginning Jan. 14, The Roadhouse will shift to a volunteer-produced music show with a special focus on weekend events, featuring local event and music announcements and a fun music mix, and will air live from 4 to 6 on Fridays. Our local and regional music program, the Scenic Route, produced and hosted by Will Moore, will move to 6 p.m.

To celebrate twenty-plus years of the Roadhouse, we invited past hosts to share stories of their most memorable moments on air. Joining Dave, Brian, and Julie are Buck Benson, Bob Carter, Mike Raymond, Dick Swanson, CJ Heithoff, Tracy Benson, Debbie Benedict, and Will Moore.

WTIP's The Roadhouse is supported in part by funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
