On March 11, climbers Lonnie Dupre of Grand Marais and Pascale Marceau of Canmore, Alberta, reached the summit of Mt. Wood despite wind chills of -45. Mt. Wood is located in the Saint Elias Mountains of Kluane National Park and Reserve, Yukon, Canada, and is Canada's sixth highest peak at 15,912 feet. Marceau is now the first known woman to summit a major subarctic peak in winter.
Dupre and Marceau joined The Roadhouse to tell us about their accomplishment and the eventful two days leading up to reaching the summit.
