The state of Minnesota has a budget surplus of more than $3 million. Though the amount seems large on the surface, it is very close to estimates by state officials, according to DFL Senate Minority Leader Tom Bakk.

WTIP’s Jay Andersen spoke with Sen. Bakk about the situation and other relevant news items in the state and nation.
