Artist Sam Zimmerman commissioned by Sawtooth Mt Clinic & Grand Portage Clinic for piece in support of breastfeeding

Cook County and Grand Portage WIC programs have collaborated on an artist grant to promote, support, and protect breastfeeding as an infant's first food, with the knowledge that optimal early nutrition has lifelong protective effects.
The Sawtooth Mt Clinic and Grand Portage Clinic commissioned local artist, Sam Zimmerman to produce a painting that would bring the breastfeeding relationship to life. The result was Sam's painting, "The Way a Mother Hugs Us"
