Anton Moody will remain on the Grand Marais City Council following a recount this morning stemming from the Nov. 6 election.

After the recount was complete at approximately 10:15 a.m., it was determined the original results from Election Night were correct. On Nov. 6, Moody was declared the winner of this seat on the city council by a single vote, with the tally of 344 to 343.

The District 5 (West End) Cook County Board of Commissioners election was also recounted. After the first count, current Board Chair Ginny Storlie defeated Bruce Martinson 322 to 317, or by a total of five votes. The same held true after the recount Nov. 15.
