The Cook County/Grand Marais Airport recently received a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation for $67,500. The funding will allow the airport to conduct an environmental assessment in conjunction with its recent expansion projects.

“I’m glad these funds will help the facility continue to provide high-quality and safe air travel to businesses and passengers across the region,” said U.S. Senator Al Franken.

WTIP’s Joe Friedrichs spoke with Airport Manager Rodney Roy about the grant funding and expansion projects.
